Yesterdays post translated to english
My soldier datter is in the military medical team.
«I am going to learn your profession in 7 weeks» she says with the greatest confidence.
She has always have had a great belief in her self, never lets the fear of failure stop her..
It is mostly a positive thing – but sometimes it can be a little to much – especially when she was younger…
She was our wild child – but thank God she has matured and grown up lately 🙂 ❤
Next week they are learning how to put a venous catheter into a vein to give medicine and blood..
But she wanted to practice some before….
Prepare herself…
So of course she comes directly to the expert 🙂
We have dolls to practice on at work – but it will never be the same as real arms with skin and veins…
It is OK to start with, just to learn the teqhnicue – but it can never resemble a real person…
So than she gets to put a needle in me instead!
Self-confidence is gold when you want to accomplish and it will help you to succeed…
IF YOU THINK YOU CAN DO IT – YOU MOST LIKELY WILL!
4 TRIES – ALL A SUCCESS!!
But she was not done – they are also going to learn to do this on them self!!
There is not many nurses who does that, I have done it a couple of times – but it requires some sleight and the ability to inflict pain on your self.. ( not that its very painful but it is a sting – and it hurts)
My daughter jumped right in…
AND OF COURSE SHE SUCCEDED
Without any training – and not a great fan of shots herself – she has managed to put 4 vein catheter in me and 1 in her self….
I am a bit amazed – I think she is really tuff – and has a confident I do recognize a bit..🙂
My profesjon is a hole lot more than this, of course – but she will get enough insight these 7 weeks so that she can do well for her fellow soldiers in a case of emergencies..
I AM VERY PROUD
AND A BIT MARKED TODAY….
But what want you do for your kids?? 🙂
