This past year we have;

practiced

planned

talked about it

Looked forward to it

been anxious

doubted

believed

hoped

been singing

sold tickets

recruited sponsors

sold more tickets

told our friends

our family

our colleagues

and acquaintances

AND SUDDENLY THE DAY IS HERE!!

4th of November 2017

Our own wardrobes

for the «girls»

 

and the «boys»

Who prepare in different ways…

 

make up mirrors, divas for one day, laughter and singing

To be on the stage for the first time in

GRIEGHALLEN!!!!

dress rehearsal with a anxious and a bit irritated conductor 🙂

She just wants us to do our best

….she keeps everything together

after all this is her big plan being fulfilled…

And lucky us get to be a part of it!!

My boyfriend is rehearsing over and over again

he is so nervous about his big solo number

so am I 😉

And then the audience is here…

we are backstage warming up

 

So excited

so nervous

Will it be a good performance?

In we go….

and the curtain goes up…..

OMG WHAT AN EXPERIENCE!!!!!

the audience is ecstatic

the songs sits just right tonight

and the band is great

All the soloists performances are the best ever

2 hours goes by so quickly

standing ovations

and then it is over….

To soon!!!

We want to go back in!!

Sing more

But it is over…

Out to meet the audience in the foyer

Thank you so much to all of you that came and supported us

You made our night!!

We hope and believe you also had a great time.

Then we drank champagne

and partied into the night..

Vi er 120 korister

som har øvd og øvd og øvd

vi synger hver eneste torsdag

vi har hatt lørdagsseminar

lagt ned timevis med terping på stemmer

pugget tekster

øvd og øvd og øvd enda mere…

Og nå skjer det

Vi inntar Grieghallen

for å synge flotte sanger for Bergens befolkning

til inntekt for bymisjonens arbeid for de svakeste i samfunnet

vi synger ikke kirkesanger

NEI vi synger ikke typiske korsanger

The 4th of november

Saturday

We have been preparing for a long time

Looking forward to it

dreading it…..

We know its crazy

We know that some think we are in over our heads

But we belive!!!

We know we can do it

We KNOW its going to be a huge success!!!

Why is it only the stars that get to sing on the big stages?

Why does it have to be celebrities to draw a big audience?

Why cant we sing at the biggest concert hall in Bergen?

OF COURSE WE CAN!!

Grieghallen is booked

The repertory is set

The success is ordered!

But that depends of YOU of course

You HAVE to come!

We promise you a great concert

a crazy and fun conductor!!

Fabulous soloists!

We may not have any well known names on our lists, but just wait till you hear our soloists!!

And my boyfriend is one of them  ❤ ❤ ❤

OMG what a concert!!!!

I love all concerts and festvals – always have…..

And I’ve been to quite a few troughout the years..

Luckily I have been so fortunate that I have seen both my Idols live on stage:  David Bowie( RIP 😭) and Bob Dylan (this years Nobel literature price winner:)

When I was a foreign exchange student in Minnesota, USA  I didn´t live so far from Bob Dylans house. I am sure he has several houses, but he did come from Minnesota originally and has a house there.

One day, me and a friend went to his house and realized that the gate was open, and of course we went in to the property. The plan was to tell Bob that I was a fan from Norway, and of course he would let us in……

NOT!!!

When we drove up to the house, 3 guards came running out and threw us out!. Quite scary at the time – but I can always brag and say; I have been thrown out of Bob Dylans garden 🙂

But either way, wether I am a big fan of the artist – or not – I love the experience of a concert, the music that filles your body, the show, everybody in a great mood, some alcohol, pure happiness and a sense Woodstock..

At the concert this Friday, it was pouring down…I had a raincoat on ( I am from Bergen so I know how to dress in this city :)…

but no rain pants ……..

We were soaked…..

But you know what? We didnt care at all!!

Robbie delivered!!

I think it has to be one of the best concert I ever been to!

HE ENTERTAINED ME 😀✌👍👏

Afterwards we went to a pub, and I dried my pants in the hand dryer at the bathroom.

I am sure I loked crazy standing there in my underpants – but who cares?? 😀

For en FANTASTISK konsert!!!!

Jeg elsker konserter og festivaler – har alltid gjort det….

Og jeg har vært på utallige opp gjennom årene.

Heldigvis har jeg fått sett begge mine store idoler live; David Bowie( RIP 😭) og Bob Dylan (årets Nobels litteraturpris vinner 🙂

Da jeg var utvekslingstudent i Minnesota, USA bodde jeg ikke så langt fra huset til Bob Dylan. Han har sikker mange hus rundt om, men han er opprinnelig fra Minnesota. En dag kjørte jeg og en venninne til huset og oppdaget at porten var åpen…….og selvsagt kjørte vi inn på eiendommen. Planen var å forklare Bob at jeg var en fan fra Norge og så ville vi selvsagt få komme inn…….

NOT!!!

Da vi kjørte opp til huset kom 3 sikkerhetsvakter stormende ut av huset og jagde oss ut av hagen……ganske skremmende der og da, men jeg kan for all ettertid skryte av at jeg har blitt kastet ut av Bob Dylans hage 🙂

Men uansett om jeg er fan av artisten eller ikke så liker jeg konsertopplevelse, musikken som fyller kroppen, showet,alle folkene i godt humør, litt alkohol og pur glede i noen timer….liten anelse av WOODSTOCK 😉

På konserten fredag åpnet himmelens sluser seg fullstendig…..De høljet ned som vi sier i Bergen. Jeg hadde tatt regnjakke på meg ( jeg er da bergenser…) men ikke regnbukse…….

Vi ble våt, dygjennomvåt….

Men vet du hva?? Vi brydde oss overhodet ikke!

For Robbie leverte så det holdt!!

Jeg tror det må være en av de beste konsertene jeg har vært på!!

HE ENTERTAINED ME 😀✌👍👏

Etterpå dro vi på scruffy hvor jeg tørket buksen under håndtørkeren på do 🤥 Så sikkert ikke så lur ut der jeg sto i trusa, men who cares?? 😀
